What Are the Different Courses Offered in Basecamp?

Throughout Basecamp, you will encounter four different types of learning modules. A single course may be associated with one or more module types, depending on its purpose and content. Each module type serves a specific purpose, which is outlined below.

  • Pro Tip: under the course catalog, you can look for courses filtering by the type of module.

Engagement Modules

Engagement modules are courses that are required for everyone. This will be made an automatic requirement for all physicians, which will count towards your maintenance of membership requirements for the Piedmont Clinic.

The first two engagement modules are the Welcome to Basecamp Course and the Maintenance of Membership Course which can be found in the Full Course Catalog.

For these engagement courses, completion is required, not skippable.

Improvement Modules

Think of improvement modules as the hub for quality improvement. Here you will find a variety of courses related to a specific quality metric. These courses will do a dive into best practices, documentation and how these will impact your quality performance.

These will be available to all providers. However, if a physician is struggling with a quality metric, the Improvement module related to the metric will be made a requirement to them.

Essential Modules

Essential modules will provide general information for all providers. These modules can include new policy changes, new administration updates, updates to operations or the Primary Care Clinical Governance Council. Anything that we want to make sure everyone is aware of.

Onboarding Modules

Onboarding modules are educational courses and training materials designed for new providers joining the Piedmont Clinic. These modules help ensure providers understand organizational policies, workflows, clinical expectations, and performance requirements. Examples include:

  • Quality Metrics Onboarding Modules for new physicians, covering quality measures, value-based care initiatives, performance reporting, patient outcomes, and organizational quality expectations and
  • APP Onboarding Modules for Advanced Practice Providers (NPs and PAs), covering role-specific workflows, documentation standards, clinical protocols, and operational processes.
